Summary


This position is responsible for the management, oversight, and development of compliance policies/processes/results for Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. (FFNA). The Manager - Compliance will drive compliance across multiple channels. Ensures that the activities of the company are in compliance with local/national/international laws, ethical standards and regulatory policies. This role is a major contributor to FFNA’s compliance goals, process improvement, and increased efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions of the position include, but are not limited to;


·       Responsible for maintaining and executing the compliance programs of the company.·       Identifies, addresses, and helps mitigate risks through examination of our organization’s internal control environment.·       Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of ISO Certification programs to ensure goals and/or objectives are met within defined timeframes and proposed budget. Management of internal audit program; developing, initiating, maintaining, and revising policies and procedures for general operations and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.

Periodically reviews and updates Standards to ensure continuing relevance in providing guidance to management and employees.o   Conducts Quarterly Management Review Meetings

  • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. Evaluates and approves corrective and preventive action requests made by other employees and/or departments as necessary and coordinates related activities.
  • Serves as designated “Management Representative” and liaison to 3rd party auditors, registrars and any other applicable outside vendors associated to the standards, certifications and business improvements.
  • Manages continuous improvements by managing audit schedule & auditors, identifying areas for improvement, and making and executing appropriate recommendations; streamline process improvement initiatives and facilitate teams.

·       Verifies conformance to the documented management systems, procedures, ISO standards where applicable and any other applicable standards; organize and submit audit findings and make and implement recommendations within management and operational teams.·       Conducts studies and/or surveys to obtain data for analysis to determine solutions or alternate methods of process to improve business effectiveness and performance.·       Provides effective communication to senior management regarding issues, objectives, initiatives, and performance to compliance programs.·       Conducts Internal Reviews and Auditso   Follows up on compliance issues that require investigation.

           ·       Monitors all applicable laws and regulations, staying on top of the dynamic law and regulation changes.·       Takes timely actions to ensure compliance, both with national/local laws and internal policies of the company.·       Drafts, modifies, and implements company policies after approval from senior management.·       Collaborates with corporate counsel and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations.·       Keeps abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.·       Regular work site attendance.·       Customarily and regularly exercises independent discretion and judgment.

Manager/Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities:


Manages 1-2 subordinate employees in the Compliance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.·       Works with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.·       Performance management duties:o   Coaches, mentors and develops staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.

  • Communicates job expectations; plans, monitors; coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Empowers employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
  • Provides effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary.
  • Leads employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.

  • Leads employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
  • Maintains employee work schedules including assignments, training, vacations and paid time off, telecommuting, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
  • Continuously communicates information through department/one-on-one meetings and email.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
  • Provides support and complies with the Company’s EEO/Affirmative Action Policy and Plan.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


Bachelor's degree (B.A.); and/or 5+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


  • Affiliation to ASQ, CQE, CQM preferred.  
  • Accreditation with the International Compliance Association (highly advantageous)
  • CCEP certification is a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS  


Demonstrate ability to effectively use computer and applicable computer software. Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.

TRAVEL


Must be able and willing to travel (up to 10%) for internal meetings and training as required, both domestically and internationally. Willing to travel by plane to locations in other states/countries. Valid Passport/Driver’s License/Real ID is required at all times for this position.Employment with Fujitsu is considered to be at-will, which means that both the employee and Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc.
