The Part-time MIA Passenger Service Agent is based out of the MIA Airport and must be local to this work location. This position will be required to work 20-30 hours per week in 4 hour shifts supporting a daily flight from MIA.
This position has the following responsibilities:
- Greeting passengers and checking their tickets and passports against the passenger list using computerized systems.
- Inquiring about security questions, allocating seats and giving out boarding cards and luggage labels.
- Weighing luggage and charging the passenger extra if the luggage is overweight.
- Directing passengers through security and departures procedures.
- Giving flight information and directing passengers to departure gates.
- Managing issues from delayed, cancelled or missed flights.
- Checking boarding passes at the departure gate.
- Escorting people who require assistance and unaccompanied children to and from flight gates.
- Making announcements on the public address system regarding flight information.
- Oversee the departure and arrivals of passengers, ensuring they are in compliance with all company policies, laws, and regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers.
- Any other task required to support the operation as assigned.
In addition, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Basic Computer Skills.
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing to include drug testing and a physical.
- Ability to safely lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Must be able and flexible to work variables shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Position may have to deal with long queues.
- Position may be based at a desk or moving around the airport.
- Position will have to wear a uniform.
- It can be a busy and sometimes stressful environment.
