Job Description:
B.E.A.T. LLC is seeking an Application Developer (Java) to join our team. The developer will support the Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System-Industrial Hygiene (DOEHRS-IH) system. DOEHRS-IH is a web-based application that supports the Defense Health Agency (DHA). US Citizenship required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on development work using Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Coordinate between multiple disciplines (Architects, Business Analysts, Project Managers, other Developers, and Customers) to design, develop, implement and support complex business solutions
- Work closely with stakeholders to design and document solutions that align with the business needs and consistent with the architectural vision
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in application program development
- Minimum of 3 years hands on development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOPs) concepts and ability to develop detailed application designs using proven industry patterns and best practices
- Minimum 3 years of experience with unit testing, continuous integration and DevOps methodologies, best practices and tools such as SVN, Ant/Maven, HP ALM, Fortify, and/or JaCoco
- Thorough understanding and experience using relational databases preferably Oracle and/or SQL
- Requires understanding and usage of J2EE technologies like JSP, Servlets, EJBs, and/or JPA
- Experience working with cross-functional project teams using agile or scrum methodology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present confidently before a large audience
