Position Summary:
As the Recruiter, you will be responsible for high volume recruiting. Grow the company’s database of qualified craft employees. Additional responsibilities will include managing all phases of the day-to-day personnel process and assisting with other departments as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Construction Coordinator to determine field craft staffing needs.
- Oversee field/craft recruiting.
- Analyzes craft and technical personnel needs for current/future projects through discussions with operations management, account managers and superintendents.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in all aspects of craft recruiting.
- Screen applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills.
- Process background checks, drug testing, weld testing, craft skills testing and other pre-employment activities.
- Ensures compliance with all other federal, state, and local employment laws and corporate policies.
- Obtains completed paperwork from new hires.
- Onboarding of all new hires.
- Experience with high volume recruiting which is subject to change at short notice.
- Experience staffing emergency jobs.
- Understanding of Human Resources best practices and procedures.
- Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding employment practices.
- Previous experience in recruiting craft and field employees in self-perform field construction industry (welders, boilermakers, pipefitters, laborers).
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in craft recruiting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills plus demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplines.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must possess an understanding of general business and office terminology.
- High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in fast-paced, results oriented environment.
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
Physical Demands:
- Involves sitting at a desk and/or driving for extended periods of time.
- Involves lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to hear telephone conversations and speak clearly.
- Ability to travel domestically.
