For more than 50 years, Gowanda Electronics has been a leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of precision electronic components for RF, microwave, and power applications. Components include standard off-the-shelf and custom-designedinductors, chips, chokes, coils, conicals, toroids, transformers, and magnetic devices in surface mount and axial-leaded (thru-hole) configurations that are used in a wide variety of electronic applications around the world. Non-magnetic inductors are also available for situations where magnetic components would compromise system performance, as in medical imaging (MRI) equipment.
About the position:
Makes or improves different types of tools to enable the production processes to be as efficient as possible. This may include jigs, fixtures, clamps, or molds to obtain a more robust consistently produced part that meets the specification of the customer. Likely to be highly skilled with machining experience, competent with design/drafting programs.
Schedule:
Hours for this position are 7:30 am to 4 pm Monday – Friday
ROLE
Under the general supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Shipping & Receiving Clerk willperform various types of work in the areas of stockroom and shipping & receiving in accordance to established procedures and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES.
This role will assist in critical Shipping & Receiving activities but not limited to the following:
Shipping & Receiving
- Process all in-and-outbound shipments including but not limited to shipping, sorting, purchase order receipt transactions, and delivering.
- Validate each shipment (prior to packing) matches the customer order.
- Label product based on established standards.
- Ensure shipments and packaging are to company and customer standards
- Work with buyer to resolve any receipt to invoice issues
- Prepare shipping and receiving documentation; maintains orderly files for all documentation.
- Participate in scheduling daily transportation activities.
- Process all shipping and receiving transactions and paperwork.
- Inspect incoming freight for damage; follows-up with Purchasing Manager to resolve any damaged freight issues.
- Issues responses to requests for tracing of missing shipments.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards in the area.
- Perform receiving inspections as required per database and drawing requirements.
- Perform required administrative tasks; prepares required reports and correspondence.
- Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this role:
- High School diploma.
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
- Willing to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, extra if needed.
- Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and handling methods.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Effectively able to do highly accurate work on medium to very small parts.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with a desire to be a team player
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Attention to detail to detect inventory errors or inconsistencies
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to follow and interpret routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or in diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Practical knowledge about MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Practical knowledge of AS400 (preferred)
- White Belt certified. Yellow Belt certified (preferred)
