Overview:


The primary function of the Client Service Associate in Fiduciary Tax is to manage an organized filing process for trust tax returns, maintain department records and take responsibility for timely tax payments. The Client Service Associate in Fiduciary Tax reports to the Manager of Fiduciary Tax.

Responsibilities: 


Tax support. 

Process and track status and filing of federal and state tax returns, including maintenance of detailed processing records. Maintain the federal and state tax estimated tax records and provide for timely remittance of estimates including notification of amounts to Relationship Managers. Respond to requests for tax information. .

Administrative support.

Process check requests and deposit refund checks. Maintain audit trail records for fiduciary tax returns by adhering to document management and retention procedures. Assist Tax Advisors in securing data necessary for the completion of returns. Assist with other tax department administrative functions as needed, working effectively and collegially with the other tax administrative associates and advisors.

Firm building.

Active engagement in department-specific and firm-wide initiatives in order to expand capabilities, create solutions to unmet business needs, improve user experience, or develop more efficient processes. Ability and willingness to contribute to the advancement of team, office and business capabilities. Other duties as required by the position.

Hours:

Occasional overtime work required throughout the year. Significant overtime work is required on weekends and evenings from March to April and August to September. 

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the financial services field, preferably in a fiduciary environment.
  • Ability to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic tools and systems to fulfill daily responsibilities, including document management.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com applications desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively interact with coworkers and high net-worth clients by phone and in person.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with other professionals on a daily basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills/pleasant telephone manner.
  • Proven competence in organizational and problem-solving skills, ability to work well under pressure, and consistent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with a great deal of initiative.
  • Full understanding of client privacy and confidentiality.
