Position Description:
Voyager Space - Exploration (ZIN Technologies) is looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for aerospace to join our Expendable Launch Vehicle Integrated Support (ELVIS 3) contract based at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) FL. The candidate will provide Quality Engineering support for our NASA customer at our Hawthorne, CA resident office, as well as supporting the KSC ELVIS 3 Safety & Quality Office in their responsibilities. The candidate shall consistently provide exceptional products/services that always meet or exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
The Candidate will be required to perform quality engineering services as required to support NASA Launch Services Program (LSP) Safety & Mission Assurance (S&MA) processes including but not limited to:
- Evaluation of commercial launch provider’s Quality Management System (QMS) and all associated sub-systems
- Evaluate and provide feedback on launch provider's nonconformance and corrective/preventative actions systems
- Participate in, and provide quality engineering analysis for NASA certification processes for new or upgraded hardware
- Present quality engineering information at various NASA Safety and Quality meetings
- Provide coordination with other quality engineering and assurance support as required (e.g., DCMA, USSF SMC)
- Evaluate and provide feedback on launch provider's Supply Chain Management and Procurement Quality Processes
- Participate in various audits of commercial launch provider’s QMS (e.g., supplier, internal, AS9100 3rd party) as required
- Perform analysis of contractor quality and supplier quality performance data to include trending and risk analysis input
- Assist the NASA S&MA office with identifying safety concerns while monitoring commercial launch provider manufacturing
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing/production engineering
- Desire 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing/production engineering
- Understanding of quality engineering functions to include:
- QMS/AS9100/ISO 9001
- Material Requirements Planning Systems
- Requirements Traceability
- Manufacturing Execution Systems
- Experience in causal analysis
- Test & evaluations systems/techniques
- Supplier Quality/Supplier Auditing
- Configuration Management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Effective technical writing, problem solving, and engineering analysis abilities
- Excellent computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Able to establish sound working relationships with peers and management
- Able to establish solid working relationships with Launch Service Contractors (LSC) and work collaboratively with LSCs and industry partners (e.g. Aerospace and USSF)
- Have effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner
- Be willing to travel - specifically to support local sub-tier supplier QMS audits
- Have U.S. Citizenship
Salary Range: $95,000 - $120,000/year
