Summary:


The Accounting Coordinator plays a vital role in the Finance department of The Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Center, Inc. This position will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the Finance department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail.The Accounting Coordinator is primarily responsible for processing and managing various aspects of the accounts payable function and assisting in the monthly close process and other Finance department duties.

Essential Functions:


  • Analyze and input accounts payable information, including vendor and general ledger account coding, on a daily basis
  • Interact with and co-own the integrated workflow software used for invoice entry and approvals (PaperSave), including staff trainings, troubleshooting, and enhancements.
  • Initiate weekly accounts payable payments via checks, wires, and ACH batches
  • Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system in accordance with document retention policy
  • Assist in year-end tax preparation
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and various other monthly account reconciliations
  • Work closely with other members of Finance staff to ensure accuracy in monthly reporting
  • Assist in retrieval of documents for annual financial audit
  • Prepare and submit various recurring invoices for payment
  • Interact with departments and vendors for timely resolution of billing and payment issues
  • Work on ad hoc accounting reporting requests

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Demonstrated ability to work within MS Office, especially utilizing Excel to craft reports and manage data
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to interact with various levels of staff in all departments, working towards problem resolution
  • Self-motivated and high attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and respond to changing priorities with flexibility
  • Quick learner with exceptional organizational skills
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting require, with a minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience.
