Key Partner Consultant – Audit, Legal & Compliance

Position Overview:
This position performs complex compliance research and regulatory analysis in order to monitor regulations and support business operations according to project plan. This position assesses compliance of underwriting rules, guidelines, procedures, and programs. This position will oversee projects that are complex and require significant expertise in insurance and compliance. This position is responsible for the management and oversight of the company’s record retention program.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Audit Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive audit programs to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Conduct regular audits to identify areas of non-compliance, operational inefficiencies, or potential risks.
- Analyze audit findings and recommend corrective actions or process improvements to enhance compliance and mitigate risks.
- Coordinate with external auditors as necessary and ensure timely completion of audit activities.
2. Legal Compliance:
- Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to vehicle protection products, consumer rights, data privacy, and financial services.
- Interpret and communicate legal requirements to internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to review forms and regulatory submissions to states and lenders to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.

Job Requirements:
- BA degree in business or related field preferred
- Paralegal or law degree preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of related work experience
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of MS Project
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, database applications and document management software
- Proficiency with software, including Nils, Serff, ODEN and internet research
- Experience working with the state and federal legal and regulatory agencies
- Experience in legislative review, analysis and reporting
- Experience developing and filing policy forms
- Experience working with wholesale and retail brokers/agencies
- Deep technical knowledge of insurance products, processes and services. Knowledge of underwriting, claims and contracts preferred
- Experience developing and maintaining underwriting compliance programs and procedures preferred
- Experience working within a legal or compliance-related department (preferably within an insurance company)
- Demonstrated history of establishing relationships with State Insurance Department personnel and examiners
- Experience handling corporate licensing and other functions related to the operations of an insurance company
- Strong leadership, project management and relationship management skills
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check
