POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:


The Controller position is primarily responsible for guiding the financial decisions by overseeing budgets, financial analysis, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and financial reporting.

  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
  • Manage the annual budgeting process
  • Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process
  • Manage capital projects and track Capex purchases for correct accounting treatment
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Review and close work orders and provide causals for material, labor, and overhead variances
  • Review manufactured product cost accuracy on all inventory items
  • Review and approve purchase orders and invoices as required
  • Support month end closing process
  • Update monthly Financial Package for assigned plant(s) and present financial results to plant managers
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Additional Controller duties as necessary
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Update, review, and distribute the operations daily dashboard
  • Manage the standard cost roll process for assigned plant(s).
  • Track and report on labor efficiency and machine utilization
  • Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs
  • Participate in Lean cost saving projects and suggest solutions.  Track cost savings after implementation of process improvements
  • Conduct quarterly cycle count audits for accuracy and process compliance
  • Manage, analyze, and report on all inventory levels including raw materials, finished goods, WIP, MRB, and in transit
  • Actively participate in Utex Safety Program
  • Support the annual PWC audits as needed

Other Requirements


  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively in difficult situations
  • Must be able to read and write proficiently 
  • Must be well versed on all applicable laws
  • Proficient computer use required

Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years combined experience in accounting and financial management 
  • Extensive GAAP and financial reporting technical skills

Work Environment


This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday.Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Occasional monthly meeting at Corporate with other plant controllers.

Travel


Some limited travel will be required.  Up to 10%.
