JOB SUMMARY:
To promote the mission of PATH to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by being an effective team member. The BHID Specialized Residential Service provides direct care including support, structure, assistance, skill training and therapeutic interventions, for service participants, in collaboration with BHID Integrated Clinical Services team. Services are provided in the home and community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 12 credit hours from an accredited college/university OR, prior to hire, an approved waiver from CBH is obtained that includes a rationale for hiring without the required credit hours
- 2 years’ experience in human services, paid or unpaid, preferably with adults with psychiatric and/or intellectual disabilities.
- Fluency in Spanish language required.
- Able to use an Electronic Health Record.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- COVID-19 vaccination, or willingness to receive vaccine required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to assist in crisis management interventions, administer CPR/First Aid, and assist individuals with mobility issues as needed.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Provide supervision of residents at all times in accordance with their integrated individual support plan.
- Maintain a supportive, therapeutic relationship with each service participant.
- Be aware of each service participant’s individual service plan, history, medications, current needs and any special accommodations required by the participant.
- Act as a role model at all times, maintaining appropriate boundaries and demonstrating effective communication skills.
- Maintain clear and consistent expectations of each service participant while maintaining a safe, supportive environment.
