HCM is looking for a strong Sustainability Manager to lead us towards a more sustainable future. This individual will be creative, self-motivated and have a passion for inspiring sustainable design. This role will work between all Market sectors to manage, organize and coordinate with the design and technical project teams throughout the design process.

About Our Market Sector


HCM provides services in the Housing, Mixed Use & Planning, Senior Living & Affordable Housing, PK-12 Education, Higher Education, Healthcare and Landscape Architecture Market Sectors.

About The Position 


  • Works with directly Market Sector Leaders and project teams to provide input in developing sustainable design strategies as needed. 
  • Collaborates with project Principals and Project Managers to present sustainable opportunities to clients as needed through cost-benefit analysis and research on local and federal tax initiatives
  • Collaborates with project Principals and Project Managers to present to lead sustainability charrettes and goal setting
  • Works with HCM leadership to set and track annual firm sustainability goals 
  • Maintains and shares knowledge of evolving building technology and systems
  • Works with HCM leadership to develop and present firmwide sustainability trainings
  • Collects and analyzes company-level sustainability data including
  • Responsible for 2030 data collection for AIA
  • Responsible for managing the Green rating systems and maintaining public directories
  • Provides marketing data for project pursuits
  • Leads the firmwide Sustainability Action Team and Sustainability team members

About You 


  • 8-15 years of experience in the Architectural or Engineering field 
  • Licensed Architect or equivalent licensure in a design field
  • LEED accredited professional required
  • WELL accredited preferred
  • Excellent design, graphic and presentation skills
  • Experience leading client meetings and sub-consultant coordination
  • Strong Revit skills 
  • Experience with Covetool or other energy modeling software preferred
  • Experience with Tally or other carbon LCA modeling preferred
  • Some knowledge of building codes and regulations a plus
