Job purpose
This position will oversee all of the financial operations and payroll processing for various client anesthesia groups
Duties and responsibilities
- Managing and overseeing accounting functions including financial statements, payroll, accounts payable, and related accounting reports. Managing within different corporate/ partnership structures
- Identifying and resolving accounting and client issues
- Providing advice on corporate governance structures and provider agreements
- Performing financial feasibility studies/advising on practice expansion opportunities
- Providing business advice on facility contracts and business opportunities
- Direct and manage comprehensive practice management projects for our clients. These services include, but are not limited to the following:
- Facility subsidy evaluations
- OR room utilization analysis
- Provider compensation methodology evaluation, design and maintenance
- Preparation of financial statements and review of same using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing standards
- Preparation and implementation of annual budgets, financial and cash forecasts for multiple clients
- Preparation of cash analysis for determination of cash distributions for partner/ shareholder clients
- Preparation of annual tax package for client tax filings done by client’s CPA firm
- Supervise/oversee Financial Managers
- Serve as financial support staff to practice administrators and senior management
- Direct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls
- Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property and operating expenses and insurance records
- Attend client business meetings virtually/in-person, or as otherwise needed
Qualifications
- BS/BA in finance/accounting related field, CPA preferred
- Experience with hospital-based specialties (ie, anesthesia) a plus
- Must be analytical, proactive, and a team player
- Ability to self-manage, prioritize
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
- Extensive excel and modeling experience
- Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to travel occasionally to see clients or internal company meetings, approximately 10-15%
Physical Requirements
Physical ability to sit, talk, hear for extended periods throughout the work day; stand, walk, push/pull, bend, stoop, kneel and reach on a regular to seldom basis. Repetitive hand motions on a frequent basis including fingering, grasping and handling. Ability to read handwritten and typed documents on paper and/or on computer screens.
