Job Summary:
The Director, Product Marketing is responsible for leading the marketing team and overseeing the development and execution of the Company’s product marketing strategy. This position is responsible for gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Electric Vehicle Mobility market and creating a regularly updated market opportunity assessment. They will become intimately familiar with our customers, understanding their purchasing decision-making processes, and become an expert on our competitors—both their current strategies and future plans.
This role includes conducting thorough customer win/loss analyses. The Director, Product Marketing’s insights will be substantiated by market evidence, which they will then utilize to shape positioning and messaging that resonates with our buyers and equips our sales channels for success.The Director, Product Marketing will oversee the product's market introduction, ensuring a successful launch. Beyond the launch, they are responsible for sustaining the product's growth in the market. This entails driving product launch strategies and leading the development of tailored positioning, messaging, and sales collateral.
They will also take charge of executing and maintaining our competitive strategy, internal knowledge center, and sales training calendar.
Responsibilities:
Product Marketing Team Leadership – 20%
- Manage marketing team: coach, train, and mentor.
- Act as the thought leader for the product externally, including speaking engagements and written works to promote the story of our product.
Go-to-Market– 50%
- Develop product messaging that differentiates products, solutions, and programs from others in the market and resonates with target buyer personas. Translate technical details into benefits for the buyers for product messaging.
- Plan the launches of new products or updates to existing products and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
- Provide input into the go-to-market plan in conjunction with the lead generation team, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
- Partner with sales team on calls when appropriate, to provide deeper insight into the product including demos.
Content Creation – 20%
- Create and deliver sales enablement training to the sales team.
- Develop competitive sales strategies to win against competitors.
- Create product content such as sales presentations, one-pagers, brochures, case studies, videos, website copy, and blog posts.
- Comprehend and assist our sales channels by providing training on the solutions we offer to our customers. Create internal resources and external materials and instruct the sales team on their effective utilization.
Market and Customer Intelligence – 10%
- Expertise in Market Insight: Develop a deep understanding of our customer base, including their demographics, purchasing behaviors, and critical decision-making factors.
- Create and maintain detailed buyer personas and purchasing workflows, including their preferred sources of information and the factors influencing their decisions. Utilize this knowledge to drive improvements in our sales and marketing strategies.
- Advocate for customers and be the conduit for representing customers with product, marketing, and the sales team.
- Gain insight into customer use of current products, and untapped opportunities.
- Comprehend the Competitive Environment: Acquire in-depth knowledge about our competitors and their market positioning.

Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or relevant field or equivalent relevant experience in Product Marketing.
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience with working as a Product Marketing Director.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time domestically and internationally.
- Ability to work in a dynamic start-up environment where initiative and ownership is required.
- Must be highly self-motivated and proactive.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent people and management skills to interact with customers, staff, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & Salesforce CRM.
