MD Energy is a rapidly growing energy management company that serves some of the area’s largest businesses, including real estate owners, restaurants, and manufacturers. We provide consulting services for utilities across the United States, and we are looking for customer centric individuals to join our team. The Sales Support Specialist will provide pre-deal and post-deal support for the Business Development Managers and customers assigned to them. This role requires a proficient understanding of our systems/processes to accurately and timely address customer issues.
This role is customer facing and requires the ability to communicate effectively with customers in person, on the phone, or via email to strengthen our relationships and drive customer satisfaction.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides post deal solutions and demonstrates skills to assist customers/suppliers with issue resolution. Performs quality proactive welcome calls and first bill calls as well as provides Salesforce expertise to ensure seamless customer onboarding. Responsible for Account Adds/Drops/Changes in Ownership.
- Manages all steps of the new and renewal booking process in Salesforce.
- Manages all transactional renewals under 100,000 kWh and under 1,000 dths from start to finish.
- Facilitates the client gift giving program.
- Assists BDM’s in preparing customer presentations.
- Maintains the procurement shared drive.
- Actively manages the renewal report through coordination with the assigned BDM.
- Provides post-deal feedback to all suppliers.
- Assists in developing quarterly market update.
- Pre-deal support of direct and indirect customers. Internal deal coordinator to clear issues and obtain pricing and contracts. Will support renewals and new business as needed.
- Knowledge of systems/processes as well as products/services to ensure a best-in-class customer experience. Participates in efforts to enhance and improve processes and systems to better serve our customers.
- Develops proactive behaviors to strengthen customer relationships. Demonstrates organizational agility and communication skills to serve as a liaison with cross functional teams to quickly and accurately resolve issues. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, or via email.
- Identify industry events, including expos, trade shows, counter days, etc. for company to attend.
- Assist with building and maintaining relationships with service providers, contractors, distributors and industry associations.
- Stay informed on industry news, updates, and trends. Track various energy efficiency project statuses.
- Provide general administrative support to Business Development Managers including travel arrangements, managing varying inquiries and scheduling meetings.
- Minimal travel may be required for company events and/or in person client meetings. Must be willing and able to travel as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of energy industry experience
- 2+ years of sales or sales support experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- High level of proficiency with Salesforce, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills to function successfully in a team environment and maintain rapport with employees and customers
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and independent decision-making
- Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with internal customers
- Flexibility on the job and the ability to work under multiple, daily deadlines
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all information
- Ability to work and follow up on projects independently
