About Intuitive Machines

Intuitive Machines is an innovative and cutting-edge space company making cislunar space accessible to both public and private customers. Our mission is to further science and exploration, communications, and economic progress from the Earth to the Moon and beyond. With the first commercial lunar landing in history, multiple NASA lunar missions in development, and additional private missions on our manifest, we pride ourselves in supporting our customers and the nation in paving the way to return humans to the surface of the Moon.

Our world-class team includes experts in all aspects of spacecraft subsystems design, development, and test, on-orbit operations, and safety.

About The Position

We are seeking a skilled RF engineer/specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting RF analysis, modeling, and simulation using Finite Element Modeling (EM), STK/mission simulation, and quantitative analysis techniques. The role involves assessing the electromagnetic behavior of RF systems, predicting signal propagation characteristics, and optimizing system performance for various mission scenarios.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct RF analysis, modeling, and simulation using Finite Element Modeling (EM), STK/mission simulation, and quantitative analysis tools.
  • Evaluate the electromagnetic performance of RF components and systems, including antennas, transmitters, receivers, and propagation environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define simulation objectives, input parameters, and performance metrics.
  • Interpret simulation results to provide insights into system behavior, identify performance bottlenecks, and propose design optimizations.
  • Validate and verify simulation models against experimental data or theoretical predictions.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate analysis findings to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in RF analysis and simulation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Proven experience in RF analysis, modeling, and simulation, preferably in aerospace, defense, or telecommunications sectors.
  • Proficiency in Finite Element Modeling (EM) software packages such as CST Microwave Studio, ANSYS HFSS, or COMSOL Multiphysics.
  • Familiarity with STK (Systems Tool Kit) or other mission simulation software for space and satellite systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in quantitative analysis techniques for RF systems.
  • Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ for data analysis and automation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality and accuracy in simulation work.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of RF propagation models and simulation tools for terrestrial, airborne, and space-based communication systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements for RF emissions and interference mitigation.

Life at Intuitive Machines

Intuitive Engineering Solutions. We develop engineering solutions at the unimagined intersections between energy, medicine and aerospace. By leveraging state-of-the-art engineering tools and practices, integrated with current research and advanced technologies we arrive at original outcomes. We improve on the equivalent of machine nervous systems, brain control functions, and sensory perception; from sensing and analyzing the world around them to autonomously controlling their movements and interactions. We connect machines to humans through smart data display and control interfaces making both operator action and machine performance more intuitive. As an engineering design and development think tank, we provide products and solutions that employ a “flight proven” lean engineering development model. Our rapid iterative design-build-test capability significantly lowers development costs, and shortens the development cycle, while increasing the probability of success of any project. Solving Problems Together.
