Position Overview:
The Payroll Administrator performs a wide range of administrative and clerical functions and is responsible for supporting payroll activities for weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for multi-state locations, including pre and post processing analysis, compensation changes, various adjustments, reporting and ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for payroll administration, compliance, and reporting.
- Administer bi-weekly and weekly payroll for hourly (union and non-union) and salaried employees.
- Process multi-state payroll(s) that include pay adjustments, benefit deductions, commission payments, garnishment, and taxes.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records.
- Enter compensation changes, deductions adjustments, and other adjustments timely and accurately.
- Calculate final pay for terminations and first pay for new hires.
- Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries by phone, email, or in person.
- Analyze payroll audit reports prior to processing to identify and resolve payroll issues.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports for accounting and HR departments.
- Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with federal, state and local laws.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes required
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
- Strong analytical skills and attentiveness to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to proactively identify problems and resolve them independently or with a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficient in Google Drive and Microsoft Office
- ADP, Concur and NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a team player
- Ability to operate within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
