Service Technician Overview
Since Frontier technologies acts as a job shop, Service Technicians perform various tasks. We are looking for mechanically inclined, problem solvers to join our team. Common projects include:
- Prepping material for industrial painting
- Industrial painting/sandblasting/spraying thermally sprayed zinc
- Packaging finished goods for shipment
- Moving material throughout the facility via forklifts and overhead cranes
- Basic oil maintenance on 65K gearboxes
- Assembling and disassembling mechanical projects
- Repairing and reworking customer’s equipment
- Grinding and sanding material
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Assisting with quality control checks
Service Technician Responsibilities
- Follow Company Policies and Procedures as well as OSHA Guidelines, and use proper PPE
- Ensure the proper tools and necessary equipment are available and in good condition to perform the required work
- Follow work instructions for preparing parts to be painted and paint to customer and SDS specifications
- Assist other technicians in skilled duties that may include sandblasting, running overhead cranes or operating heavy machinery
- Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
- Other job duties as directed by Site Manager or General Manager
Qualifications
- Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Able to read and interpret work instructions
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Perform basic Math skills
- Able to accurately read/use a tape measure
- Basic computer skills
- Able to identify and operate basic hand tools and small power tools
- Committed to completing assigned tasks with a high degree of quality and on time
- Comfortable working in an environment with evolving customer priorities
- Able to identify safe and creative solutions to solve customer challenges
- Able to work overtime as needed
- A “self-motivated” team player
- Able to work effectively in South Alabama climate conditions
- Able to stand for long periods of time, crawl, squat, and climb without tiring easily
- Able to travel to customer sites
- Must be an insurable driver
- Must pass a background check and drug test
