Job Summary
/Position ObjectiveThe Mechanic I is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of facility machinery. Key Responsibilities
Proficiency in basic principles of mechanical troubleshooting and repair (able to perform the task with no supervision)
Knowledge ofthe basic principles of (has had training, but has not proven proficiencyand sometimes requires supervision of task):
Inspection and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
Mechanical Installation of facility machinery
Root cause analysis and counter measure
Product quality analysis
Preventative maintenance process of facility machinery
Operation monitoring of facility machinery
Basic equipment fabrication
Fabrication of repair parts and solutions
Troubleshooting and repair of:
Optical Sortation
Crushers and Screeners
Compressed Air and Dryers
Organic Removal Systems
Metal Remove (Fe and NonFe)
Conveyance
Create and ensure environment of safety for self and others
Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
Maintain a clean work area
Maintain and secure work tools
Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Requirements
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Ability to manage time and prioritize effectively
Team player, able to lead and contribute to a team effort
Excellent communication and people skills
Analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
1-3 years of maintenance experience preferred
Able to work safely and efficiently
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics preferred
Glass processing knowledge is a plus
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Must be able to perform above listed duties
Exposure to a dusty and noisy environment that can be very hot or cold
Required to perform mixture of light, moderate, and heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive technical nature.
Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. 50 % bend, stoop, twist, reach, and climb steps. Up to 75% walking or standing required.
Regularly required to handle tools, machinery equipment, welding equipment, and large and small mechanical parts. Regular fine hand manipulation and required to write and type on a computer keyboard. Manual dexterity required.
