For more than 50 years, Gowanda Electronics has been a leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of precision electronic components for RF, microwave, and power applications. Components include standard off-the-shelf and custom-designed inductors, chips, chokes, coils, conicals, toroids, transformers, and magnetic devices in surface mount and axial-leaded (thru-hole) configurations that are used in a wide variety of electronic applications around the world. The company offers RoHS-compliant products as well as lead-containing components for QPL military/defense and other demanding requirements.
Non-magnetic inductors are also available for situations where magnetic components would compromise system performance, as in medical imaging (MRI) equipment.
About the Position
An ERP Systems Programmer creates or enhances software and programs using RPG (Report Program Generator), a specialized coding language developed by IBM. Your responsibilities as an RPG programmer include designing and developing code in RPG, generating reports, and fixing bugs.
Schedule: 7am - 4pm or 8am - 5pm Monday thru Friday
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Uses the tools and utilities supplied to develop, test and implement new computer programs.
- Plans and executes testing to ensure the program meets the specified requirements.
- Works with users to capture system requirements.
- Designs new systems that may be complex and cross platforms.
- Investigates innovative technologies and new techniques.
- Analyze existing program logic and design enhancements based on correction and/or modification requirements.
- Assuring quality, security and compliance requirements are always met.
- Analyze user requests for enhancements to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities.
- Help users to solve operating problems and provide technical assistance to program users.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: Associate degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering or 5+ years of equivalent work experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, , executive, management, individual contributors
- Familiarity and Ability to work with 3rd party software by T.L.Ashford(Barcoding), and Acom solutions (Forms, Checks), and ENTRACK(EDI).
- Satisfactory analysis skills to review existing RPG/CL programs.
- At least 4 years of RPG (II, III, 400, ILE,) programming, SQL, preferably for iSeries
- At least 4 years of CLP, CLE, DDS (PF, LF, JLF, DSPF) and Subfile programming
