Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Network Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure. They will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our network, as well as driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage a team of network engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development
  • Develop and implement network engineering strategies, standards, and best practices to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our network infrastructure
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that meet the needs of our customers and business objectives and on capacity planning and performance optimization efforts to ensure the optimal performance of FiberLight’s network infrastructure
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in network engineering processes, tools, and technologies
  • Assist with development and management of the network engineering budget, including forecasting, planning, and cost control

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and best practices, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, and SD-WAN
  • Experience with network design, implementation, and maintenance, including optical equipment, routers, switches and other network devices from leading vendors such as Ciena, Cisco, Fujitsu and Juniper
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of network engineers
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex network issues and develop effective solutions
  • Industry certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable, but real-world experience in large Telecom and/or large Hyperscaler/Cloud networks is preferred
