Position Overview


  • Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant Contractor will provide accounting support in a multi-state fiber-networking Company that is owned by a large international private equity firm.
  • Duties include supporting month-end close and mid-year/annual financial reporting under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Key topics of focus include, but are not limited to:
  • Revenue recognition accounting, including subscription revenue, construction revenue, and deferred revenue
  • Construction/project accounting, including project cost management and percentage of completion accounting
  • Lease accounting and record keeping
  • Accounting for debt
  • Accounting for various operating expenses, including employee compensation plans (e.g. commissions)
  • ACH Implementation support.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Providing support for annual audits of the Company
  • Fundamental understanding of routine accounting processes (e.g., accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued expenses, account reconciliation, double entry accounting)

Requirements


  • Degree in accounting, business, or finance from a reputable, accredited university
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel to solve business and accounting challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize accounting software packages

Preferences


  • Certified Public Accountant Licensure in the United States (or willingness to obtain)
  • Audit or other experience within a public accounting environment
  • Experience with NetSuite accounting system and/or Blackline account reconciliation software
