Financial Manager - Practice Management

Job purpose
Serve as Financial Manager for multiple client groups, performing full cycle accounting, payroll, financial analysis, payables. Duties include supervising accountants and clerical staff in meeting the needs of clients and working with practice administrators and senior management to meet those client needs.
Duties and responsibilities
- Managing and overseeing accounting functions including financial statements, payroll, accounts payable, and related accounting reports. Managing within different corporate/ partnership structures
- Identifying and resolving accounting and client issues
- Providing advice on corporate governance structures and provider agreements
- Performing financial feasibility studies/advising on practice expansion opportunities
- Assisting with personnel recruitment
- Providing business advice on facility contracts and business opportunities
- Preparation of financial statements and review of same using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing standards
- Preparation and implementation of annual budgets, financial and cash forecasts for multiple clients
- Preparation of cash analysis for determination of cash distributions for partner/ shareholder clients
- Preparation of annual tax package for client tax filings done by client’s CPA firm
- Supervise accountants and clerical staff
- Serve as financial support staff to practice administrators and senior management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus 6 years of relevant and progressively more responsible experience in accounting
- CPA and/or MBA preferred. Financial analysis experience helpful.
- Knowledge of tax filings and difference between book and tax accounting helpful
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and be an advanced Excel user
- Financial preparation and analysis experience to include Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows
- Experience in general ledger, and preparation of journal entries
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Recent supervisory experience
- Positive attitude, desire to mentor and willingness to help others
- Dependable, reliable, fair, consistent, and sensitive to the needs of the team/others
Physical Requirements
Physical ability to sit, talk, hear for extended periods throughout the work day; stand, walk, push/pull, bend, stoop, kneel and reach on a regular to seldom basis. Repetitive hand motions on a frequent basis including fingering, grasping and handling. Ability to read handwritten and typed documents on paper and/or on computer screens. Position will require routine travel throughout the US.
