  This position will report to the Material Planning & Logistics Superintendent and is based at our location in Belleville, MI.  It is extremely important this team member be aligned with Neapco’s Core Values of Partnership, Passion, Agility, Teamwork, Integrity, and Diversity.  Compensation dependent upon qualifications.

Job Description: Material Planning & Logistics Supervisor


Key Responsibilities:  


  • Ensure the efficient flow of material in support of established production schedules
  • Schedule UAW represented material handling personnel
  • Lead cross-shift team meetings and stand-downs
  • Maintain employee time and attendance records in Plex ERP system to ensure accurate payroll processing and attendance tracking
  • Provide formal forklift instruction and practical training, as well as evaluate employee performance to issue material handling equipment certification
  • Direct and oversee shipping and receive activities
  • Schedule outbound freight to comply with operations and capacity
  • Verify proper labels and tickets have been applied prior to shipping
  • Ensure accuracy of all shipping and receiving documents
  • Maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory records in ERP system (Plex)
  • Ensure shipping counts match picking documents
  • Verify physical rack inventory matches records in customer systems
  • Communicate shipping schedules to customers
  • Participate in cycle counts and help maintain accuracy of inventory
  • Maintain production job schedules
  • Eliminate waste through safety, quality, and MP&L process improvement initiatives
  • Must be available for all shifts

Required Skills:


  • Excellent judgement and decision-making ability
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritizing multiple projects and tasks
  • Sound understanding of MRP functional flows and requirement generation
  • Experience supervising unionized work force in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) experience and proficiency required
  • Experience with Plex ERP system and customer portals (Covisint and eSupplierConnect) a plus

Education


  • Bachelor’s Degree with focus in Supply Chain Management preferred; consideration may be given to candidates with equivalent combination of education and experience
