Position Overview:  
Sparks Marketing is looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to join our multicultural, enthusiastic and rapidly growing international team in Europe.As Senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) you will support the design development and fabrication of experience-based exhibit projects, ranging from basic cabinetry components to more complex structures utilizing glass, wood, metal, fabric and other materials. You will be expected to proficiently produce CAD drawings on numerous projects, be knowledgeable in multiple cross-platform drawing programs and have excellent project management skills. Applicants must have deep knowledge of and international experience in the tradeshow/event or experiential industry.

This position is full-time, and must be based in Europe. Responsibilities:


  • Prepare CAD drawings based on customer, design and/or sales specifications and project estimates; determine scale and perform mathematical calculations.

  • Specify material, hardware, electrical/lighting specifications, and building techniques in accordance with customer requirements and Sparks manufacturing standards.

  • Prepare CAD drawings for shop fabrication and onsite setup, including part layouts for CNC.

  • Archive completed projects and perform all relevant administration functions.

  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously while hitting all critical timeline milestones.

  • Assessing the financial, technical and operational risks of the project

  • Analyze plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation in order to estimate costs

  • Researching, sourcing, negotiating and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors

  • Other Project Management duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree in related fields such as Architecture, Engineering or Technology.

  • Minimum 5+ years of Exhibit Industry experience using recent releases of AutoCAD and producing 2D and 3D shop drawings.

  • Ability to work independently to create drawings based on limited information, providing workable solutions to highly imaginative design challenges. 

  • Create drawings following established company standards and guidelines; ensuring design is in line with bid and build-ability constraints.

  • Experience in high quality exhibit fabrication, architectural millwork, graphics and cabinetry build-out.

  • Knowledge of a variety of construction and finish materials including metals, plastics, fabrics, woods, and laminates.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of drafting, engineering, building techniques, mathematics and mechanical aptitude.

  • Attention to accuracy and detail, positive attitude and a team player

  • Ability to value engineer, perform self-directed product research and propose different methods of construction while meeting design intent and budget/time restrictions.

  • Hands-on experience with shop fabrication techniques, equipment, and processes

  • Experience with Project Management, preferably in the events and tradeshow industries

Preferred Skills:


  • Motivated, service-minded, resourceful and self-driven

  • Positive attitude and team player

  • Extensive experience drawing in 3D using recent releases of AutoCAD

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs.

  • Ability to anticipate problems, proactively determine solutions and take action within a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Multiple languages is a plus

  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once while keeping overview

  • Ability to work flexible hours under extreme pressure and deadlines

  • Ability to travel, as requested
