Heartland has an immediate opening for a Financial Advisor located at our Upper Arlington branch in Upper Arlington, OH. Assess and fulfill customer’s investment and financial needs and/or planning requirements.
This position is responsible for the sale and distribution of investment and insurance products and services as well as for executing and achieving the bank’s wealth management business plan.In this highly visible role, a typical day might include the following:
- Identify and solicit business from potential clients through advertising campaigns, mailing lists, referrals and personal contacts.
- Meet with clients to determine financial and insurance needs, complete formal financial plans as appropriate, recommending proper investment/insurance or advisory strategies and competently presenting the appropriate recommendation.
- Responsible for maintaining on-going knowledge of current market conditions, new products, services and tax law changes within the financial industry.
- Maintain a full working knowledge of various software packages to produce financial planning and/or investment advisory solutions for clients.
- Ensure adherence to all policies, procedures and requirements of the Broker Dealer and Heartland Bank.
- Represent the bank by participating in community affairs, clubs and organizations to assess the needs of the community, enhance the bank’s visibility and increase new business opportunities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years in the financial advising industry
- Minimum licenses: Series 7, Series 63, Series 65 and Life & Health licenses (or equivalent)
- Valid driver’s license
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Existing book of business preferred but not required
- CFP, CLU, CHFC, AIF, etc.
Computer/Software Competencies:
- Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Internet Explorer
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Climate-controlled office environment. Consistent travel via automobile to local customers’ homes and/or businesses.
