To act ethically and responsibly. Ensuring that our legacy is one of positive impact and lasting changePosition Summary:  The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for delivering all aspects of the Supplier Quality Assurance function at Arcadium Lithium.

 They are responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet customer specific quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to. Additionally, this individual will maintain the robustness of product builds following new product introductions and offer technical support to ensure continuity and improvement in supplier capability. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead the Arcadium Lithium supplier quality management program by driving the site quality team and partnering with the Global Procurement team.
  • Partner with the Global Procurement team to develop key supplier contracts and processes as it relates to external suppliers.
  • Work with Technology and Quality teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability to meet product and process requirements.
  • Support the Global Quality Directorto monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance through tracking of key performance indicators.
  • Collate and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain, including participation in Supplier Performance Review meetings with Global Procurement.
  • Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as lean, six sigma, poke yoke, measurement system analysis and process failure mode and effect analysis.
  • Lead new supplier and existing supplier 4M change (internal and external) approval process by assessing manufacturing and technology capabilities.
  • Perform on-site supplier visits for supplier audits, root cause analysis, and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues in conjunction with the Global Procurement Supplier Performance Management Program.  
  • Develop suppliers and their processes to conform with the needs of our business and downstream product quality.

Education and Experience 


  • Bachelors in Engineering discipline require. Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements


  • Must have a working knowledge of chemical processes / Packaging Processes to provide basic service and support to suppliers.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP and FMEA   preferred 
  • Vast experience in quality engineering and working with Quality Management System, specifically
  • (ISO45001, ISO14001, IATF16949).
  • Skilled at dealing and communicating with suppliers in resolving problems
  • Understanding manufacturing processes 
  • Knowledgeable about the requirements like PPAP, DOE, process validation. for new raw material introduction. 
  • Ability to lead the audit and qualify new/present suppliers from Quality perspective 
  • Immense ability to work in both traditional and matrixed organization
  • Strong analytical skills and proficient in Minitab to understand the statistical analysis preferred.
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills to effectively communicate with quality network, Manufacturing and technology organization. 
  • Must be ready to travel internationally.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
