Maintenance Engineer
Job Overview:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment within our organization. Your responsibilities will encompass tooling and equipment improvements, technical troubleshooting of machines, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will be pivotal in optimizing our manufacturing processes, enhancing productivity, and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tooling and Equipment Improvements. Identify opportunities for enhancing tooling and equipment to improve efficiency, reliability, and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement upgrades or modifications to existing tools and machinery.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed improvements.
- Machine Technical Troubleshooting to include diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to machinery and equipment promptly.
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and automation systems.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to drive improvements in equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
- Analyze performance data, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and develop action plans for improvement.
- Provide technical training and guidance to maintenance technicians and operators.
- Share best practices and lessons learned to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the maintenance team.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in maintenance engineering.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications.
- Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance metrics.
- Utilize data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-backed recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex machinery and equipment issues.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills:
- Experience with AutoCAD and Minitab for design and modification of tools and equipment.
- Good technical and interpersonal skills for interfacing with customers.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Friction, GMAW, and MIAB welding processes preferred.
- Experience with Propshafts and High-Speed balancing operations a plus.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis and infrared thermography.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
- Project management skills for overseeing tooling and equipment improvement projects from conception to implementation.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or related field.
