Senior Front End Developer


who is responsible for developing and maintaining the user interface and user experience (UI/UX) for an external facing website. They will work closely with back-end developers and senior front-end developer to ensure that the website’s frontend meets the needs and requirements for the targeted audience. This opportunity is a foundational role in a new team. The ideal candidate for this position will be a technical leader with expertise in React and architectural design best practices.

Skills and Experience:


  • BS in Computer Science or related degree.
  • Proficient in JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.
  • Experienced with ReactJS patterns & practices.
  • Previous cloud-based web experience, minimum 5 years; preferably 8 years.
  • Knows how to leverage built-in capabilities of component libraries, browsers, React, and vanilla JS.
  • Proficient in writing defensive JavaScript code that enhances front-end functionality & consumes RESTful APIs.
  • Working in tandem with back-end developers.
  • Adapts gracefully to unfamiliar business domains and code architecture.
  • Experience working with Material UI components.
  • Can identify & make pragmatic decisions to gradually improve code & architecture, deconstructing legacy solution into reusable components.
  • Accustomed to frequent commits and deploys.
  • Proactive in reaching out to others with questions, concerns, or to seek help.
  • Familiarity with Git. 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Builds & releases application features & product enhancements (JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Material UI, Redux).
  • Shapes & Scopes features together with Designers, Product Managers, and other Engineers.
  • Agile product development, participate in sprint planning and backlog refinement as well as daily and Contributes requirements & acceptance criteria.
  • Interprets & converts design mockups into React components.
  • Navigates through & debugs existing codebase to fix bugs.
  • Provides peer feedback via pair programming and participate in code reviews.

Nice to have:


  • Experience with eCommerce and shopping cart design.
  • Azure experience is a plus.
