Position Summary: 
As the Controller, you will be responsible for hands-on operations of the company’s accounting team. Grow the company’s profitable business and ensure the financial well-being of the company in all areas of its operations. Additional responsibilities will include managing all phases of the day-to-day accounting process and assisting with the annual budgeting process, and company year-end audits. Controller’s responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information and work closely with our financial management team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. 
  • Support implementations, migration, or upgrades of financial systems.
  • Maintain daily bank deposits, monthly reconciliation, and wire transfers.
  • Provide payroll support and oversight.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial reports and information.
  • Issue timely, accurate, and complete weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Accounts payable/receivable management.
  • General ledger management.
  • Treasury management.
  • Cash and earnings forecasting.
  • Revenue and expenditure variance analysis.
  • Job Cost / WIP reconciliation and analysis.
  • Capital assets management and reconciliations.
  • Fixed asset management.
  • Support timely A/R collections.
  • Review journal entries, reports, and other information produced by other direct reports.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and assist with annual audits and tax requests.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Meet financial accounting objectives.
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
  • Assist other team members as necessary to achieve organization’s overall operational and financial goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting with 3+ years of managerial experience required.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations with GAAP experience required and Percentage of Completion accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to generate and analyze income statement, balance sheet, revenue forecast and cash flow statements.
  • CPA certification is highly desirable.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to analyze and manipulate large amounts of data. Ability to manage accounting department and deliver complete month end reporting.
  • Must be proficient in utilizing and interpreting financial models and analyses.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly adapt, learn, and deploy new concepts.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases. Experience with Sage considered a plus.

Physical Demands:


  • Involves sitting at a desk and/or driving for extended periods of time.
  • Involves lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to hear telephone conversations and speak clearly.
  • Ability to travel domestically.
