This Air Force capability is to employ Special Warfare Operator Lifecycle Enterprise, a lifecycle management database (SWOLE) to capture Human Performance and medical support teams to optimize performance, balance recovery, and develop readiness for Special Warfare Operators through SWOLE utilization. 
The objective is to manage and maintain the software platform supporting SWOLE, as well as execute end-user requirements while utilizing SMARTABASE as the software platform supporting SWOLE for up to 8000 end-users.The key elements for this management system are identification of lifecycle program/system logistics, identification of training & operational requirements, mission & development support requirements, validation, implementation and synchronizing the current lifecycle management database to capture a comprehensive performance profile of a special warfare operator’s career. 

Job Summary/Objective: 


The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization's information systems and assets against cyber threats. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies, procedures, and regulations while maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive information. Additionally, the ISSO oversees security incident response and mitigation efforts, promotes security awareness and training initiatives, and continuously monitors and evaluates the security posture of capability's information systems. Location: 100% On-Site, San Antonio, TX 

Travel Requirements:

This IT contract will include support for all squadrons operating locations and detachments that are assigned to the Air Force in San Antonio, TX.

Education & Certifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline with five years of ISSO experience. Four (4) years of additional ISSO (9 years total) experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Certification(s): CISSP, CISM, CAP, CISA, CompTIA Security+, or CYSA+

Clearance:   


Active Public Trust clearance, adjudicated within the past 5 years.

Experience: 


  • Must have prior US Federal Government Projects experience.
  • Shall have a proficient understanding and working knowledge of computer, e-mail, voice mail, and telephone texts to perform duties.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Full performance level: Five (5) years or more of ISSO experience 
  • Knowledge of current security tools
  • Hardware and software security implementation
  • Communication protocols
  • Encryption techniques and tools
  • DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or higher (preferred)
  • Experience testing and documenting information security controls (NIST SP 800-53)
  • Experience creating or modifying information security documentation.

Duties:


  • System Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) as part of NIST SP 800-37 Risk Management Framework (RMF) system 
  • Application accreditation
  • Prepare Vulnerability Scanning test plans, coordinate testing, and conduct scans using Nessus, Found stone, Web Inspect, Hailstorm and other scan applications.
  • Evaluation of the assigned information systems’ security control compliance with the federal requirements and the client’s monitoring strategy 
  • Management of emerging and defined risks associated with the administration and use of assigned information systems.
  • Coordination with the client’s Cybersecurity Unit to achieve and maintain the information systems’ compliance and authorization to operate (ATO) 
  • Ensuring systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with policies outlined in the approved security authorization package.
  • Performing annual assessments to ensure compliance with the client’s policies and standards.
  • Work within a team environment to provide technically sound guidance to adhere to the cybersecurity industry best practices and the client’s monitoring strategy. 
  • Analyze collected information to identify vulnerabilities and potential for exploitation and effectively present the results and guidance derived from scans to system owners or other leadership, as required. 
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing to track and detail the demands, efforts, and shortcomings in meeting the goals of the client’s information system monitoring strategy
  • Support the integration/testing, operations, and maintenance of systems security. 
  • Develops, updates, and maintains internal Standard Operating Procedures for all internal assigned functions. 
  • Aligns business processes and information technology strategy with the conditions and circumstances of the functional environment and establishes effective performance measures.
  • Contributes to the definition and implementation of planning processes and/or systems at the enterprise level including both strategic and operational activities. 
  • Provides system operation support, administers hardware and software inventory.
