Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lead Case Manager will carry a reduced case load and is responsible for the supervision of the Case Managers and. Additionally, the Case Manager Lead will work with the Program Director to assure compliance with multiple funding sources and contractual obligations and the quality of services provided. This job is performed during NSO business hours but will require flexibility. Driving is a requirement of the position.

Education, Licensure and Experience Requirements:
Education: Masters of social work, or related discipline.
Minimum Required Experience:
- Demonstrates leadership skills in developing policies and procedures which both guide and reflect services.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to inspire the team spirit in others.
- Experience in dealing with homeless populations.
Essential Job Duties:
- Understands and is knowledgeable of the duties, methods and procedures required by the job.
- Supervises Case Managers provides individual supervision, and makes recommendations for personnel actions to the Assistant Unit Director as needed.
- Provides day-to-day to Case Managers and is responsible for the case record of those members assigned to their caseload.
- Responsible for recommending to the Assistant Unit Director changes that would improve service delivery and for implementing changes and new programming.
- Provide case management services to a reduced case load
- Coordinates with other departments at NSO to enhance service delivery and effectiveness. • Collaborates with multiple state and community organizations
- Able to inspire, influence, and enable others to achieve goals.
- Sets performance expectations of the department or individual work unit.
- Develops performance objectives for direct reports.
- Supervises staff which includes mentoring, coaching, training, and administering disciplinary actions as necessary in keeping with Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Delegates by allocating decision making and other responsibilities appropriately and effectively.
- Gives performance reviews on time and takes an active role in the development of subordinates.
Administrative and Professional Skills
- Monitors and maintains data on services provided, and submits reports as required, to DWCCMHA, MDCH, and other agencies, as appropriate.
- Reviews staff requests for leave and makes recommendations based upon program needs.
- Monitors program funds for direct client assistance in coordination with the Finance Department, ensuring compliance with established accounting practices and program guidelines.
- Assists in the recruitment of staff to ensure that vacancies are filled, and program objectives are met.
- Complies with and adheres to department and NSO policies and procedures.
- Adheres to established quality and performance improvement standards.
- Works effectively with others to accomplish goals/resolve problems.
- Organizes work well and uses time effectively.
- Maintains consistent work attendance.
- Maintains good operating environment by attending work on time as scheduled.
- Professionally represents NSO and promotes NSO mission and vision statements.

Working Conditions and Necessary Capabilities
- Works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed, to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office with infrequent contact with customers.
- Work location may vary as needed. Locations include but may not be limited to other offices, public areas, clinics, or shelters, with varying levels of noise, and exposure to staff, consumers, and the public.
- Bends, stoops, and reaches to file, search for and retrieve records and documents.
- Manual dexterity and regular fine-finger and hand/wrist motions are required for operating a keyboard, writing, and filing.
- Seeing/vision, talking/speaking and listening/hearing are continuously required.
- Frequently required to stand during working hours.
- Frequently required to sit, walk, or drive.
