Job purpose
The Billing Request Clerk will provide support to the Operations Department head. These responsibilities include but are not limited to processing attorney requests, subpoenas, medical liens, and assisting with the monitoring of various operational departments, monitoring employee production, analyzing trends in data, and other confidential administrative related functions.
Duties and responsibilities
- Process and respond to insurance carrier, attorney, state/federal requests regarding patient inquiries
- Prepare various confidential departmental requests, documents, utilizing various software programs
- Prioritize requests ensuring turn-a-round times are met
- Engage in critical analysis of data with focus on proactive actions
- Track and communicate with Client Managers
- Open, deliver, and distribute mail
- Track and send notifications out to management on client changes
- Monitor client/facility changes utilizing reports and spreadsheets for easy referencing
- Run, process, and upload reports within various software programs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in an equivalent position reporting to upper level management
- Previous health care and/or medical experience preferred
- Type 40 wpm
- Excellent MS Office applications kills – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines and prioritize projects/tasks
- Excellent communication skills (both verbally and written)
Physical Requirements
Physical ability to sit, talk, hear for extended periods throughout the work day; stand, walk, push/pull, bend, stoop, kneel and reach on a regular to seldom basis. Repetitive hand motions on a frequent basis including fingering, grasping and handling. Ability to read handwritten and typed documents on paper and/or on computer screens. Ability to lift or carry object weighing up to 20 lbs.
