Experience · Minimum 2 years of clinical experienceJob Knowledge and ComprehensionØ Primary Job RoleIntake Therapist provides Intake screening to Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) and CertifiedCommunity Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) consumers.This position assesses consumers for outpatient mental health services and Itellectual and Developmentally Disabledconsumers (I/DD) by evaluating the nature and severity of an Individual's mental health problem determining whichservice response would best meet the needs of the patient, doing an eligibility assessment, and providing a referral to anappropriate program.Ø Job Knowledge and Comprehension· Knowledge of Clinical assessments and clinical writing skills are essential.· Knowledge of the use of DSM-V.· Knowledge and ability to diagnose in assessment and treatment planning.· Knowledge of common signs and symptoms specific to the I/DD population.· Knowledge of common mental health conditions, substance abuse conditions and treatments/supportsinterventions.· Knowledge of behavioral and cognitive techniques and therapeutic treatment interventions.· Ability to effectively assess and intervene during crisis situations, including suicidality.· Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and provide advanced levels of knowledgeconsistent with post graduate training.· Knowledge of available community resources.· Ability to utilize sound judgment and practice autonomous decision making, seeking supervision asneeded.· Ability to represent the agency to the community, natural supports and other interested persons in amanner that fosters understanding of the needs of consumers, and the goals and mission of theorganization.· Ability to assess the safety for consumers and self as a professional service provider.· Cultural sensitivity and awareness of the role of culture in the delivery of services.· Delivery of culturally competent services including the ability to transform knowledge and culturalawareness into interventions that support and sustain healthy functioning within the appropriate culturalcontext.· Ability to incorporate Person Centered Planning principles into practice.· Ability to recommend services for Person Centered Planning· Ability to communicate effectively with consumers, family members, natural supports, and communityagencies.· Ability to effectively prioritize work.· Demonstrate proficiency with using computers adequate enough to use electronic medical record andmobile technology.Essential Job Duties · Expanded knowledge of community resources.

The noise level in the work environment is typical ofthat of an office with frequent contact with consumers.· Work location may vary as needed.· Locations include but may not be limited to other offices, public areas, clinics or shelters, with varyinglevels of noise, and exposure to staff, consumers and the public.· Bends, stoops and reaches in order to file, search for and retrieve records and documents.· Manual dexterity and regular fine-finger and hand/wrist motions are required for operating akeyboard, writing and filing.· Seeing/vision, talking/speaking and listening/hearing are continuously required.· Frequently required to stand during working hours.· Frequently required to sit, walk or drive.
