About The Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations, assisting in the month-end close process, and managing the vendor payables process. You will also oversee our company credit card program, assist with daily cash receipts, and support miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the General Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of multiple bank accounts.
- Assist in month-end close process by making general journal entries and reconciling various asset/liability accounts.
- Manage the vendor payables process, including overseeing employee expense reimbursements, entering non-freight payables, setting up new vendors, and issuing daily ACH payments to carriers.
- Oversee the company credit card program by booking entries in the accounting system and auditing employee card usage for compliance.
- Assist with daily cash receipts by pulling reports, conducting customer remittance research, and making debit/credit adjusting entries as needed.
- Support miscellaneous tasks assigned by the General Accounting Manager to aid in the annual external audit.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 0-1 year of applicable work experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel with the ability to perform basic calculations.
- Strong attention to detail, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a quick learner.
