COHO Consulting Group is seeking a
Sr.
Data Analyst for process and data analysis support for a federal customer process improvement contract. They will be supporting an operational efficiency though process and data analysis, developing improvement recommendations, metric development and monitoring, dashboard and data visualization as well as workflow automation support. The Sr. Data Analyst reports to the Program Manager but will lead the data team and collaborate with the business and communications analysts to ensure the metrics program aligns with the organization change, strategic plans, and process improvements.This role is hybrid on-site 2 days/week in Arlington, VA and remote 3 days, unless otherwise required by the government project/meeting schedule.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytic systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks.
- Identify trends and opportunities that enable the organization to make data-driven decisions through analysis of complex data sets.
- Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for data sets.
- Work closely with client leadership and program manager to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers.
- Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.
- Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting appropriate combination of methods and tools within defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solution.
- Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across data sets.
Essential Job Requirements:

- Education:
- Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or Statistics or related field
- Required Knowledge/Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience mining data as a data analyst
- Proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization.
- Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations.
- Experience with data cleansing, preparation, exploration, and analysis, creating data visualizations, reports for problem solving
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations using PowerBI
- Strong SQL or Excel skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools.
- Proven track record of providing data visualization capabilities that communicate to stakeholders results in a clear and concise manner.
- Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
- Prior experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques
- Strong programming experience with frameworks including XML, Javascript, and ETL
- Practical experience in statistical analysis through the use of statistical packages including Excel, SPSS, and SAS
- Lean Six Sigma
- Understanding of the Baldrige Framework
