Job Summary
Teaching Assistants (TAs) play a critical role in teaching ~15-20 learners (as part of a larger class) in Correlation One’s virtual Operations Leadership training program. TAs will be expected to support synchronous sessions as well as provide asynchronous support to Fellows to ensure their comprehension and learning.
Program Specific Information:
We are hiring Teaching Assistants for one upcoming program. Teaching Assistants attend all live lectures, provide office hours, and support with asynchronous tasks such as grading, answering questions on Slack, etc. The dates and times for upcoming cohorts are as follows:
- Program Start Date: July 15th
- Program End Date: Oct 18th
- Weekly Lecture Cadence: Mondays & Fridays; 3:00pm - 6:00pm ET
Key Responsibilities
- Average weekly time commitment for the TA role is 15hrs [6hrs lecture, 3hrs administrative, and up to 6hrs of office hours]
- TAs are required to participate in all live lectures, providing helpful and fast responses via Slack, as well as being prepared to host breakout rooms as needed.
- Half of the time dedicated in live lectures will be TA-led breakout sessions providing learners situational questions where TAs will be front-and-center and evaluate Learner responses live
- Provide 6 hours of individual office hour sessions for Fellows each week. You may set these hours within our parameters at your availability and convenience.
- Work with fellow TAs and Lead Instructors on ways to improve the learner experience
- Host review sessions or other support mechanisms to ensure the progress and satisfaction of your Fellows.
- Grade your Fellows’ submissions, providing feedback and ongoing learning support.
- Potentially sit on a panel throughout the full duration of the program where Learners will present their end of program capstone project
Who you are
- As an Operations Leadership Teaching Assistant, you are a passionate advocate for leadership and management education, possessing a strong foundation in operations leadership principles and practices. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, you thrive in supporting instructors and students alike in understanding complex leadership and people skills concepts. Your adeptness in soft skills learning and mentorship enables you to provide valuable guidance and assistance, fostering a secure learning environment. Your dedication to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest leadership and management trends positions you as a valuable asset in preparing students for success in the dynamic field of information security.
Your expertise
- 2+ years of experience in leadership and development or operations leadership type role
- Supervision roles that have developed your skills around positively leading a team effectively and proficiency in administrative tasks.
- Experience mentoring or giving live feedback in high-stakes situations
- Previous experience in roles similar to Amazon’s Process Assistant role, Team Lead roles, Shift Supervisor positions, and other workplace leadership roles will be helpful when being considered for this role
- Experience teaching content focused on leadership skills, conflict resolution, collaboration, people management, and time management
- Comfortable leading live breakout sessions and providing instant feedback and mentorship
- Empathetic and insightful with demonstrated experience coaching or mentoring, especially in high-stakes environments
- Strong command of the English language, both oral and written
- Data-driven mindset and results-oriented
- Comfortable and excited to work in a dynamic start-up environment with a lean team
- Passionate about improving processes, self improvement and research
- Comfortable working remotely, independently, and self-motivated to succeed
Where you are
- This role is remote and can be located anywhere that is compatible with the EST time zone. We are headquartered in New York City and have office space in Midtown Manhattan.
Compensation
- Compensation is determined based on a broad range of factors; included but not limited to program, candidate's geographic location, experience and skills.
- $42.50 - 50/hour (for a NEW TA)
