What We're Looking For
The Bank is seeking a Fair Lending Program Director to report to the Head of Fair Lending. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining numerous and varied fair lending program elements, including risk assessments, a range of principles-based and operational policies and procedures, and training.
Responsibilities:
The Fair Lending Program Director performs a wide range of duties including much of the following:
- In collaboration with the Head of Fair Lending, Compliance, Analytics, Data and Business teams, build and/or maintain key fair lending compliance management systems program components for CRB.
- Collaborate across the bank and across teams and disciplines within the bank to communicate and promulgate best practices for fair lending risk management.
- In collaboration with the Head of Fair Lending and team leaders, manage day to day operations of the Fair Lending Program, which includes ensuring the Fair Lending team is supported in conducting risk mitigation activities as well as managing policies and procedures, reporting on Program elements, and ad hoc requests.
- Analyze current operational processes, identify improvements that will result in greater efficiencies, and implement improved processes.
- Synthesize relevant information related to the Bank’s Fair Lending Program to provide recommendations, support decision-making, and drive strategy.
- Create processes for compiling and submitting regular internal and external reporting on Program elements.
- Oversee the implementation, management, and maintenance of document repositories as needed.
- Manage a team of fair lending experts carrying out various duties related to creating and/or maintaining a robust Fair Lending Program that is tailored to the bank’s business model, size, and complexity.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining robust fair lending compliance management systems for banks engaged in consumer lending.
- Subject-matter expertise in fair lending regulatory requirements and compliance management systems.
- Experience leading high-performing teams through promoting role clarity and accountability, while mentoring and coaching for strong performance.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and effectively manage competing priorities for self and team.
- Consistent manifestation of a flexible and creative approach to problem-solving while fostering these qualities in team members and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines while fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment
- Experience with project management, internal operational, or change management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree; JD, MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
- Experience using project and process management tools.
- Experience in the financial service or banking sector including lending products and credit risk management.
- Understanding of fair lending and fair banking-related laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA/Reg B), Unfair, Deceptive, and Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAAP), and the Fair Housing Act (FHA).

- Experience successfully managing an expert team, including delegation and oversight of workstreams.
