Your impact


Handshake is hiring a IT Manager to build out an efficient, results-oriented, and scalable IT team that can support the needs of the company. As a manager, you will have the opportunity to work on the IT strategy for Handshake, drive the execution of key IT initiatives, manage and build out the IT team, and partake in IT responsibilities as an individual contributor.  We are looking for an experienced leader with a background in endpoint management with an emphasis on creating highly scalable solutions that are built on principles of automation and a proactive approach to solving end user’s problems.

This position will have the ultimate responsibility of identifying and designing current and future technical solutions for the company’s collaboration, agile workflow tools, information systems, applications, integrations, and business processes.

Your role



  • Establish a culture of excellence, trust, and responsibility within the Information Technology team that aligns with Handshake's core values.

  • Develop an IT roadmap that aligns with the needs of the business by partnering with key stakeholders such as Finance, HR, Security, and Workplace Operations. 

  • Establish service level agreements and clear expectations for IT operations. 

  • Manage team’s performance and engagement level through constructive feedback, identification of training and tool gaps, and career path development.

  • Establish escalation paths for IT support based on severity.

  • Establish appropriate controls and processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and security best practices.

  • Serves as primary corporate spokesperson for information management. Facilitate ongoing IT Operations communication between offices and employees. 

Your experience



  • 3+ years of management experience, leading technical and functional resources, preferably at a SaaS-based high-growth company

  • 5+ years of experience within an IT or technical organization, including automation, application implementation, and/or business analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience building winning teams, identifying growth opportunities in others, developing talent, and recognizing talent gaps.

  • Hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: MDM management for Mac Operating Systems (Kandji, JAMF), networking experience (Cisco/Meraki), service management (Service Now, Freshservice), cloud identity and access management for enterprise (Okta, Google).

  • Strong leadership skills, including but not limited to a collaborative attitude, providing constructive feedback, driving for results, aligning priorities with business objectives, and strong communication skills.

Bonus areas of expertise



  • Technical certifications preferred across IT Operations domain (e.g. ITIL, CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, Security+).

Compensation range


  • $110,000-$130,000

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all 

U.S.-based roles


 based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
