Position Overview:


The Quality Engineer position reports directly to the Manufacturing and Quality Manager and works in close collaboration with programmers, engineers, and technicians. You will play a crucial role in the organization as you will be responsible for ensuring we deliver quality products to our customers. The ability to confirm if a product is built to its specifications is just as important as having the initiative to problem solve and identify why a product was not build to its specifications. Woking with engineers and programmers to identify the root cause and what steps or processes need to be put in place to ensure that the same mistake does re-occur. 

Key Responsibilities


  • Quality Control Process Development:Improve and develop new quality control processes and procedures for product manufacturing, assembly, and testing. 
  • Collaboration and Coordination:Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, and production to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle. 
  • Team Management:Manage the quality inspection team, ensuring they have the necessary systems and tools for the job. 
  • Inspections and Audits:Perform inspections and audits of processes, materials, and finished products to identify non-conformities and areas for improvement. 
  • Quality Metrics and Reporting:Establish and maintain quality metrics and performance indicators to track and report on product quality and process efficiency. 
  • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions:Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to address them. 
  • Training and Guidance:Provide training and guidance to the production team on quality standards, procedures, and best practices. 
  • Design Reviews and Risk Assessments:Participate in design reviews and risk assessments to ensure that product designs meet quality and reliability requirements. 
  • Customer Support:Support customer inquiries and feedback related to product quality and reliability. 

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or 3 years of quality engineering experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T diagrams. (ASME Y14.5)
  • Proven experience in quality engineering or a similar role, preferably in the aerospace manufacturing or robotics industry.
  • Familiarity and experience with metrology tools and gauges.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, tools, and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex quality issues.
  • Fantastic communication skills and the ability to interact with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with a passion for delivering high-quality products and improving processes.

Preferred Qualifications


  • 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering role
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification 
  • Knowledge of quality systems (especially AS9100)
  • Awareness of lean principals and continuous improvement methodology 
  • Proficiency with various ERP/MRP systems
  • Ability to articulate and defend engineering decisions

  • Example: Implements standardized inspection procedures and checklists to ensure every technician inspects parts with the same level of rigor and attention to detail.
  • Decisiveness: Drive quick decisions and action instead of remaining stuck in analytical hell.
  • Example: Makes swift decisions on NCRs when features are out of tolerance, balancing the need for speed with the necessity of thoroughness to prevent quality issues from impacting production timelines.

$75,000 - $150,000 a yearFor this role, the target salary range is $75,000 - $150,000 (actual range may vary based on experience). This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
