Airtable is seeking a Senior Technical Revenue Accountant to join our growing Revenue Accounting organization. In this role, you will be reporting to the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting and will be responsible for owning many of the critical revenue accounting functions around contract reviews and supporting deal close processes, documentation of accounting positions, supporting month end close / reconciliations, and annual audit support. You will also be expected to assist with continuous process improvements within the OTC cycle and will play a key role in helping to scale the revenue accounting function at Airtable.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk teams to ensure alignment between contractual terms and revenue recognition principles
- Assess new product offerings and go-to-market strategies for revenue considerations
- Review contracts and ensure proper revenue recognition treatment, including documentation of non-standard revenue transactions and performing revenue adjustments
- Identify and drive process improvements within the overall Quote to Cash process, including system improvements and automation projects
- Assist with accounting close and reporting process, including financial statement preparation, analysis, and management reporting
- Research accounting guidance and draft technical accounting memos to conclude on the company’s key revenue positions
- Support annual audits; preparation of audit schedules and reconciliations and support ad-hoc audit requests
- Provide technical guidance to operational revenue accounting team (billing & collections)
Who you are
- Minimum of 4+ years of revenue accounting experience in high-growth SaaS industry, including a minimum of 2 years at a public accounting firm; Big 4 experience is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study; CPA is preferred
- Working knowledge of general accounting concepts and ASC 606; contract review and revenue recast experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel is required, knowledge and experience with Workday and Salesforce is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experienced with working with various stakeholders or cross-functional departments
