About This Role

Everyone belongs on Strava when they are pursuing an active life.Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will play a central role in building Strava’s DEI and Employee Experience strategy and measuring our impact. This includes: co-creating our ongoing strategy; collaborating to design various processes, programs and experiences; providing perspectives to leaders that help build and weave equity and antiracism into our product and our marketing; working with our social impact team to connect our DEI initiatives to our wider community impact; and, championing our DEI and antiracism efforts across Strava.
This also includes defining norms and thinking about how we provide a consistent, equitable employee experience for our global distributed workforce.This person will be a leader and doer, lending expertise, strategy and leadership throughout our People Team and Strava’s broader leadership team. It is imperative that they have high EQ and be capable of building trust with individuals across the organization at all levels. Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Antiracism and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
- Together with the DEI Program Manager, lead the continuous development, refinement and execution of Strava’s DEI strategy across all facets of our company.
- Champion DEI at Strava. At times this will mean designing the work itself or speaking publicly to audiences within and outside Strava about these topics. At other times it will mean being a trusted advisor, a sounding board, a coach and an advocate for others.
- Leverage tools such as our established “Antiracism Framework” and “Company Wide Antiracism Norms” to grow and expand our company culture of antiracism.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to develop their plans for how they will create equity and inclusion across their teams, and serve as an accountability thought partner as they implement these strategies in partnership with People Business Partners.
- Create programs and learning and development content that helps the Strava team increase their competence in antiracism, inclusion and equity.
- Build strong relationships with leaders and individuals throughout Strava, based on high trust.
- Provide leadership and support for our employee resource groups (ERGs).
- Measure the results of our initiatives over time.
- Play a key role in our People Leadership Team, partnering with the other functional leaders to drive broader impact across all of our People strategies.
Employee Experience
- Develop and implement an Employee Experience strategy and program to support camaraderie, connection, and effectiveness for our teammates, regardless of people are working in offices, hybrid, or fully remote.
- Ensure programs are reflective of and aligned with our overall company culture and People strategies.
- Define what, how, and when we celebrate and bring our culture and teammates together through shared experiences to foster connection and camaraderie.
- Operationalize how we deliver employee-centric programs, services and events which build company culture, engagement, and diversity.
- Intentionally build connections with teammates outside the US, seek to understand and improve their experiences of working for a US-based company from other countries, focusing on where we can improve.
- Ensure our Employee Experience programs take a people-centered, practical approach that blends data insights with care and compassion.
- Make strategic decisions around team gatherings, festivities, and gifting and swag; in particular, lead and scale Strava’s approach to holiday and end of year celebrations.
- Drive continuous improvement of programs and processes.
- Manage budget and expenses, including vendor contracts.
