We have team members located across the United States spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees. We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person 2-4 times a year for full company and departmental offsites.

These offsites are expected of employees and are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.

What the Role Is


As the Senior Strategic Finance Manager, Growth you will be responsible for marketing finance, especially working with our growth marketing (performance marketing) team to understand how marketing investments translate to user growth and flows revenue model. The successful leader must be ready to roll-up their sleeves and dive into the data, systems, and models. As the main driver of the GMV model, this person will also support the Affiliate and Media Partnerships businesses. This highly visible role will interact with the executive team to bring new insights and recommendations to the table.

Who You Are


  • 8-10+ years of experience, ideally with experience in an FP&A role in a high growth consumer technology or media company; 3+ years of experience at a manager level.
  • Strong background in media and customer acquisition and associated metrics and concepts, such as CAC, CPL, LTV, paid channel optimization, etc. 
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills with experience partnering at the senior, director and executive management levels 
  • High attention to detail but an equally important ability to see the big picture and evaluate analyses with strategic business context
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to navigate cross-functional collaborations effectively and be front and center with company executives
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills (including data visualization), with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders; Comfort interacting at all levels of senior management, including VP, SVP and C-suite is a must.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling techniques and abilities, forecasting, and data analysis tools with a deep understanding of best practices
  • Strong sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity and an ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, Finance or a related field. MBA is preferred

How You Will Make An Impact


  • Support annual budget and regular forecasting cycles.
  • Determine ROI on new growth initiatives, and track performance against targets.
  • Create a culture of Strategic Finance & FP&A excellence where the function is viewed as a strategic partner on financial matters, providing guidance and assistance to all functional groups as needed.
  • Provide leadership in the development and the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives. Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Prepare financial reporting including, dynamic dashboards, business analyses, financial statements, KPI reporting, operational dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to optimize financial results
  • Solve complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, business insights, and recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders
  • Consolidate inputs, and challenge assumptions, on performance drivers and projections from stakeholders
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial planning and analysis processes

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.The estimated pay range for this role is $126,160.00 - $189,240.00In addition, Babylist offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including company paid health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
