The team - Policy and AI Platforms.
This is a Senior Product Manager Position (IC6), acting in two squads: Policy Platform and AI Platform.AI Platform is the squad responsible for creating and maintaining MLOps tools for Nubank, serving Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers and with goals to provide AI/ML tooling for other job functions (citizen ML practitioners). This team supports the development of Gen AI at Nubank and works with the teams supporting future GenAI use cases to provide the necessary infrastructure and governance.Policies Platform focuses on creating products that accelerate the creation and deployment of policy models, that combined with the Machine Learning Models make a core part of Nubank's automated credit decisions.This team is part of a broader “Data Product” business area, with six other really amazing product people to work with and learn from.
About the role
Our data platform is in the early stages of evolving to a “data mesh,” which is a new technological paradigm for how big, complex, and fast moving companies work with data. Because of this, this is a new team in a new Business Area (as part of the Data BU) and presents a unique opportunity for someone’s “start-up mentality” to build and own product strategy and execution, within the broader context of some exciting new technologies (data mesh, AI & ML models). It also means you’ll get autonomy for your products but with structured support of an experienced and big team. Someone who would work well in the role would enjoy and appreciate what “platform” product work looks like – understanding internal customers, building for (crazy) scale, and creating user autonomy.
Key responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of users and stakeholders by conducting research, data analysis and interviews;
- Define, prioritize and communicate short and long term product goals;
- Specify and refine requirements - from conception to launch - of products, working closely with engineering and other functions depending on the domain (e.g. data science, data engineers, analytical engineers);
- Stay up to date with complex domains including business intelligence tools, AI, data platforms, and data mesh;
- Help the team understand where the company and the market is going;
- Be an evangelist for the team, communicating to stakeholders and helping the team bridge any gaps in understanding between the team and the rest of the company.
Desired skills and competencies
- Experience working with data and business intelligence products as a Product Manager;
- Experience owning and supporting the entire product life-cycle of successful tech products;
- Strong desire to discover and fulfill the needs of users;
- Comfortable working with numbers and making decisions based on data;
- Ability to build strong relationships across distinct stakeholders;
- The ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into a clear strategy;
- Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and presentation;
- Advanced English language skills;
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to a high paced environment;
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle;
- Experience working with internal/platform products is a plus.
- Some experience as a people manager is a plus.
