We’re looking for a highly driven individual to lead us on this journey, utilizing (a) years of experience in retail operations and store development, with (b) a ‘roll-up-your-sleeves’ entrepreneurial spirit.This role will be responsible for developing and implementing Huckberry’s retail store strategy, working with external partners in real estate and construction to successfully deliver the openings of new stores, hiring and managing a retail team, and overseeing overall store operations. It’s a big role for an individual who can work in a fast-paced environment, problem-solve on the fly, and manage multiple projects across the country at once.
*This role is ideally based in Austin, TX - open to remote for the right candidate
Responsibilities
Store Operations
- Accountable for leading cross-functional teams to deliver successful launches of Huckberry’s first brick-and-mortar retail stores
- Oversee all retail operations, beginning with hiring a talented team of Store Leaders and Retail Associates to oversee day-to-day operations
- Drive performance to hit sales and profitability targets while delivering a best-in-class in-store experience
- Implement systems and standard operating procedures that will drive operational excellence, including best practices in inventory management, visual merchandising, and team management
- Actively conduct regular store visits with all retail locations to monitor and support all aspects of customer and team experience and operations
- Provide consistent and actionable feedback to Buying and Marketing teams to ensure aligned brand, product, and visual merchandising execution
Store Development
- Oversee the real estate pipeline, working with our external broker partners to secure on-strategy real estate site locations in target markets
- Marshal cross-functional teams to gain alignment on key decisions, including store design merchandising, and programming
- Work with external architects and construction firms, ensuring that construction projects proceed on time, and within budget
Requirements
- 8+ years experience in retail operations within a high-growth brand, managing teams to deliver successful store openings and best-in-class ongoing store operations
- Strong working knowledge of retail real estate site selection, design and construction
- History using project management skills to lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects
- Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships both internally (store managers, company cross-functional teams) and externally (brokers, construction teams, landlords)
- Organized, self-motivated, transparent and accountable
- Highly driven, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a highly entrepreneurial workspace
- Travel will be required as needed to drive successful store openings and ongoing management
