As our Director of People & Talent, you’ll help lead January through our next stages of growth. Reporting directly to our Chief Administrative Officer and GC, you’ll lead initiatives to attract, retain, and develop exceptional talent while fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence. And you’ll be joining January at a pivotal moment. We’re scaling our mission from reaching millions to tens of millions of consumers and becoming the indispensable platform for financial institutions and other creditors for the resolution of all debt.
Your work will actively enable the most underserved consumers to reclaim ownership of their financial lives.
Your impact:
As our Director of People & Talent, you’ll:
- Elevate January’s people and talent acquisition strategy to support and scale with our next phase of growth
- Lead a world-class talent acquisition function focused on attracting top talent
- Design and implement performance management and talent development programs that drive team member development, retain exceptional talent, and reward high performance
- Manage and grow a high-performing People & Talent team to execute across strategies
- Partner with our leadership team to drive company decisions that promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce, that create a healthy work environment, and that scale our culture thoughtfully
- Strategically audit and refine the competitiveness and compliance of our processes and programs
- Act as a thoughtful HR business partner to all areas of the business
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of management-level experience in people and talent functions
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic people and talent management in a high-growth tech company, including planning and policy, talent management, compensation, benefits, training and L&D, employee relations, and performance management
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to align People & Talent initiatives with business objectives
- Experience leveraging metrics and data to inform and measure people-related decisions
- Deep familiarity and experience with HR software tools
- Effective written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all stakeholders and team members, regardless of seniority and department
- Exceptionally collaborative, with a gift in creating a culture that fosters trust, community, and excellence
We are currently hiring for this position in our New York office.

We offer transparent and equitable compensation packages to all existing and future January team members.The target salary range for the Director of People & Talent role is $165,000 - $185,000, commensurate with experience. We determine the final package by considering experience, applicable education and training, and relevant skills derived throughout our interview process.
