Job description


We’re seeking a detail-oriented and strategic-minded Head of Legal to join our rapidly expanding team. In this pivotal role, you’ll help ePayPolicy manage its customer contracts, minimize risks and support its mission while maintaining legal compliance and integrity.

In this role, you will:


  • Lead negotiations and documentation of customer legal agreements.
  • Maintain and update standard terms and conditions, ensuring clarity and alignment with ePayPolicy's interests.
  • Implement efficient contract management processes to facilitate drafting, negotiation, and execution.
  • Provide legal guidance on product development, go-to-market strategies and business planning.
  • Manage ePayPolicy’s intellectual property rights.
  • Manage external counsel and the overall budget for legal expenditures.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of legal processes, contracts, and policies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential legal risks in ePayPolicy's operations, products, and services.
  • Stay informed about changes in legislation and industry trends affecting the payments industry, advising senior management on compliance strategies.
  • Manage due diligence requests from customers and vendors, coordinating with internal teams as needed.
  • Oversee the company's response to regulatory audits.

What you bring:


  • Possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, demonstrate a strong. academic background and be admitted to a US state bar in good standing.
  • 3+ years of experience as an attorney at a top law firm and/or in-house, including the provision of legal advice on commercial matters and/or drafting/editing commercial contracts.
  • Experience in legal negotiations within the payments or fintech industries.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. insurance industry.
  • Ability to work independently and strategically, thinking ahead to meet the needs of a dynamic, fast-paced company.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to implement efficient processes and work autonomously
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

We operate on a hybrid schedule for in-office employees. Standard schedules are three days per week in the office, however, the cadence and days are determined by each team and manager.
