Pumpkin is looking for a highly resourceful and strategic Chief of Staff to streamline activities, facilitate cross-departmental coordination, and effectively communicate the CEO's vision. Your strategic direction will be pivotal in supporting key areas of Pumpkin and success of critical initiatives like veterinary channel performance, GTM strategies for new Wellness products/services and enhancing our PHI offering to improve our product market fit. Your emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and analytical skills will be crucial in enhancing the CEO's effectiveness and executing strategic initiatives across our rapidly growing company.
This will be a hybrid position, with a minimum requirement of 2-3 days a week in the New York City office.
What You'll Do:
- Strategic Management: Assist the CEO in developing, communicating, executing, and sustaining strategic initiatives. Translate the broader strategy into clear annual goals and objectives for performance and growth.
- Leadership Support: Act as a surrogate for the CEO in various executive roles. Prepare and brief the CEO for strategic meetings, presentations, board meetings, quarterly executive offsite, and major initiatives. Participate in executive meetings and deliver progress updates to stakeholders.
- Project Management: Oversee large, often cross-functional organization-wide projects or initiatives. Manage crucial deadlines, organize necessary resources, and ensure accountability, leading to the successful completion of the project.
- Decision Support: Research, benchmark, analyze data, and make recommendations. Create systems and processes to streamline operations.
- Meeting and Event Coordination: Manage the CEO’s schedule, ensuring it aligns with top priorities. Plan and coordinate executive meetings: offsite, board meetings and company-wide meetings, including agendas and logistics.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor organization's performance and emerging issues. Ensure appropriate follow-up or adjustment of strategies or plans.
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of Strategy and Management Consulting experience at top firm (BCG, Bain, McKinsey, etc.)
- 6+ years of professional experience in strategic planning, business design/development or similar function, ideally with a fast growing startup
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
- Experience using data to analyze performance and drive strategic decision making
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities, capable of making well-informed and timely decisions
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to to build buy-in, facilitate compromise and develop strong relationships
- Advanced organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and with precision
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, attending meetings, conferences and events, visiting company locations, clients and partners.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with technology/tools for data processing, analysis, and visualization (SQL, Tableau, etc.)
- Familiarity with software development processes
- Experience working for a fast growing company
The compensation for this position ranges from $140,000- $160,000 (annually). Compensation may vary outside the listed range, based on a number of factors including but not limited to location, qualifications, performance, skills, and experience. The compensation range listed is just one component of Pumpkin’s total compensation package for employees. Total compensation packages, depending on the position, may also include incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short or long-term incentives.
If hired, employees will be in an ‘at-will position’ and Pumpkin reserves the right to modify compensation (as well as any other discretionary payment or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
