Who You Are:
The Research Associate is responsible for assisting in all Scientific Affairs investigational and clinical studies, and managing the day-to-day operations of each Nutrabolt Laboratory – HQ Campus (Austin, TX) and UHP Campus (Maysville, AR) traveling 2-4 weeks a quarter. Primary functions include, but are not limited to serving as the research coordinator, and a co-investigator and co-author for all internally administered investigational research, being responsible for the development, maintenance, and training of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each Nutrabolt Laboratory, and ensuring the timely completion, analysis, presentation and/or publication (when applicable), and integrity of data attained during investigations.
What You're Good At:
- Assists VP of Scientific Affairs with all investigational and clinical research, such as:
- Serving as the lead study coordinator and a co-investigator on all internally administered investigations
- Preparation and revisions of study recruitment, screening, and data collection materials for each internally administered investigation
- Obtaining WCG IRB Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval for all investigations (when applicable), providing updates, and account management
- ClinicalTrials.gov study submission and updates (when applicable)
- Ensuring the timely recruitment, scheduling, study administration, data input and analysis, and completion of investigations
- Lead co-investigator of all internally administered investigations (1-2 studies per QTR, per laboratory)
- Training and management of University Interns and contracted aides employed to assist during data collection
- Poster and/or Scientific Conference Presentation of data (when applicable)
- Research Manuscript preparation and edits (when applicable)
- Development and communication of study findings
- Development and maintenance of investigational product structure and function claims
- Administers physiological tests and is responsible for the safety of participants who may be involved in Nutrabolt Laboratory research or who otherwise engage in laboratory testing or activities
- Ensures adherence to FDA and other federal laws for conducting research and good clinical practice (GLP)
- Manages Labs, Nutrabolt.com website and the promotion of Nutrabolt research
- Maintains clean, orderly, and stocked laboratories
- Ensures qualification of, and routine maintenance and upkeep are performed on Nutrabolt Laboratory equipment
- Development, maintenance, and training of Nutrabolt Laboratory methods, validation, and SOPs
- Assists in training and management of University Interns and contracted personnel employed to assist during data collection and support other Nutrabolt Laboratory and Scientific Affairs functions
- Maintains data stores and lab books from investigations and on relevant methodological procedures, testing, and analysis
- Other laboratory and Scientific Affairs duties as assigned
What You Contribute:
- College degree or significant course work in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related scientific discipline within the Nutritional, Biological, Chemical, or Engineering Sciences
- NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), NSCA Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP), ACSM Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), or ACSM Personal Trainer (ACSM-PT) certification preferred
- CITI or ACRP certified for conducting biomedical human research
- Adult First Aid and CPR certified
- Exercise physiology laboratory experience required
- Ability to understand and interpret clinical research, testing methods, analytical test results, and proficiency researching and applying technical information; prior experience as a co-author of published research preferred
- Familiarity with dietary supplement and food current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, learns quickly and solves problems effectively, and is able to correctly apply and/or improve upon what you have learned, and proactively contributes to improving/optimizing a process or output

- Ability to communicate effectively (in English) to lay and scientific individuals and groups, both verbally and in writing
- Able to work independently and efficiently in a team environment with minimal supervision
