About the Sales Team
Our Sales team is expanding in response to strong demand for LearnUpon within the LMS market. We're looking for a standout sales leader with a proven track record of attracting, developing, and motivating a team of sales professionals. Our team sales culture is influenced by highly driven Account Executives who thrive on closing new business and working collaboratively with others to exceed quarterly and annual objectives. Our goal is to deliver our revenue targets by finding net new accounts and expanding the install base.
About the Role
As a Sales Manager at LearnUpon, you will be responsible for leading, developing, a team of approximately 7 to 8 quota-carrying Account Executives. Your role will involve coaching team members in sales strategy, pipeline management, opportunity management, forecasting and contract negotiations. You'll also provide skills training and mentoring on sales plays, including collaboration with internal stakeholders including; marketing, customer success, product and solutions engineers.
What will I be doing?
- Team Leadership: Attract, hire, and develop a high-performing team of SaaS sales professionals
- Achieve Sales Targets:Establish a strategy and mindset that delivers sales targets. Be bold, be creative, and deliver results
- Coaching and Development: Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to team members, focusing on sales strategy, pipeline management, opportunity management, and career development
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth
- Pipeline & Forecast Management: Accurately forecast sales pipeline, improve pipeline hygiene and ensure business predictability
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Business Development, Customer Success, Marketing, Support, and Product teams to drive business forward
- Thought Leadership: Lead contract negotiations and strategy on key opportunities, providing guidance and support to team members
- Performance Management: Create a high-performance environment by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and recognizing individual and team accomplishments
- Market Knowledge: Maintain a real-time understanding of the competitive landscape to build winning proposals and pricing strategies
What skills do I need?
- Leadership: Proven ability to motivate and lead teams to achieve results
- Experience: At least 3 years experience leading a quota-carrying sales team, with a successful track record of quota attainment
- SaaS Expertise: Strong understanding of the SaaS business model and best practices
- Talent Development: Passion for hiring, developing, motivating, coaching and retaining top sales talent
- Executive Presence: Competence in building meaningful relations with customers at the executive level
- Sales Skills: Exceptional coaching skills in prospecting, discovery, presentation, buying behaviors, and overcoming objections
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategic initiatives
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with attention to detail
- Sales Tools: Proficiency in Salesforce, Gong and other standard sales tools

Not required but considered a big plus
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university
- Experience of working within the Learning or LMS industry

What is the Hiring Process?
Applicants for the position can expect the following hiring process:
- Qualified applicants will be invited to an initial a 30-minute call with our Talent team.
- Successful candidates will then be invited to an interview with the Head of Sales.
- If successful, candidates will be invited to deliver a practical presentation to demonstrate their Leadership qualities.
- Finally, candidates will have a short interview with our CEO.
